Phagwara: Punjab Pradesh Congress Commitee (PPCC) President Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today predicted that the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP alliance government will last at the most for two years.
Addressing newsmen after presiding over a state-level function to commemorate the birth anniversary of slain Prime Minister Indira Gandhi here, Bhattal, in presence of state congress party Working President Mohinder Singh Kaypee, maintained that the Punjab government had no moral right to stay in power after the admission of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal that the state bureaucracy was unbridled.
She asserted that the Badal government was crippled by contradictions, non-functioning, lawlessness and an unreined bureaucracy. When a Cabinet Minister had to complain to the chief minister that his "umpteen telephone calls" were not being responded by a Secretary-level bureaucrat and when a chief minister was so helpless to rein in bureaucracy, what moral right this government had to stay in power , she asked while referring to Minister Tikshan Sood's recent complaint to Badal against a Secretary. "This incapacitated Government should quit on moral grounds," she demanded.
