Cong gears up for seat sharing pact in Gujarat
Wednesday, November 21, 2007 20:40 [IST]

New Delhi: Congress has arrived at a seat sharing arrangement with NCP and CPI(M) in Gujarat giving them five seats, as it released the first list of 82 candidates for the Assemby polls being held next month.

NCP gets four seats while CPI(M) will fight in one, a senior party leader said. Congress had last night cleared the candidates for the first phase of polls to be held on December 11. The BJP had on November 18 issued its first list of 75 candidates for the two-phased assembly polls in Gujarat, scheduled on December 11 and 16.
