Hyderabad: The BJP today demanded dissolution of Karnataka assembly after Parliament approval and sought immediate polls in the state to overcome the crisis.
Speaking to reporters here, party's senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu said, "Now that all the experiments have failed in the Karnataka, there is no option than holding elections."
Strongly criticising the JD(S) for its volte face after extending conditional support to BJP, Naidu said it was blot on democracy.
On the reported efforts of JD(S) to support the Congress for government formation, the BJP leader said there was no possibility of parties coming together now and any attempt for patch up between JD(S) and Congress would be "unethical and unacceptable". Naidu expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious and come back on its own with comfortable majority in the state.
Referring to Nandigram violence in West Bengal, Naidu said it was an unprecedented incident and accused Left parties for adopting double standards . "You can discuss all issues like Gujarat issue, Babri structure and issues related to BJP ruled states, but you can not discuss about the CPM ruled states which speaks about the double standard of Left parties," he said while ridiculing CPM's stand for not allowing to discuss the Nandigram issue.
The left parties did not allow to take dead bodies till the announcement of ex-gratia of Rs five lakh in Modigonda firing in Andhra Pradesh in July last, but now the CPM has announced only an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh in Nandigram, Naidu said.
