Itanagar: Churches and masjids in the country should be Indianised as Christians and Muslims in the country were Indians too, RSS chief K S Sudarshan said.
No scripture, including the Bible and the Gita makes any distinction among human beings. Why divide the society along religious lines, he told a public gathering here yesterday. All people of Hindustan irrespective of caste, creed and religion are Hindus and Hinduism a way of life, he said and cited three judgements of the Supreme Court to buttress his point.
The USA, he alleged, was pumping in huge money to spread Christianity and fragment the Hindu society. But Bharat will continue to belong to the Hindus, even if a single one lives in this land. Referring to the spread of Christianity in the north eastern states of the country, he said intellectual Arunachalees had opposed conversion. Many like Ganidinlu, who had propagated Zelianggrong faith, had put up a resistance in Nagaland fearing loss of culture as loss of identity.
Though the innerline permit was a stumbling block, the Christian missionaries came through the school route. Nabam Atum, chairman Nyishi Indigenous Culture and Faith Society, in his address said RSS's philosophy had similarities with indigenous faith which was sometimes misinterpreted by various sections of the society. Stop false propaganda and direct interference in our culture as it would result in division and disharmony Atum said.
