Sting on Guj riots generates heat in LS
Thursday, November 22, 2007 21:55 [IST]

New Delhi: The Tehelka sting over Gujarat riots generated much heat in the Lok Sabha today with the RJD demanding registration of a murder case against Chief Minister Narendra Modi and a CBI probe into the incidents.

BJP members protested vociferously as Devendra Prasad Yadav raised the issue during Zero Hour saying the TV expose had shown that those holding constitutional posts had masterminded mass killings.

Yadav, who was supported by Ramji Lal Suman(SP) and Basudeb Acharia (CPI-M), said 3,000 Muslims were killed in Gujarat violence.

This infuriated the BJP members leading to adjournment of the House ahead of the lunch recess by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
