Ghaziabad: The family members of two victims of the Nithari serial killings were today allegedly assaulted by police officer Dinesh Yadav, who has been suspended in the case, and six others.

Anil Haldar, father of 12-year-old victim Rimpa Haldar, and Arun Sarkar, brother of Anjali Sarkar (25), filed a petition before special CBI judge Ram Jain that they were that they wer attacked at Rajnagar district centre near the court complex by the suspended Nithari sub-division circle officer and six others. The two were medically examined at MMG Hospital here after which the judge directed the district police chief to lodge an FIR and take necessary action.

Counsel for the victims Khalid Khan meanwhile filed a petition against Nand Lal, the father of Payal (22) who recently retracted his statement given to the court in July, and six others, including co-accused Moninder Singh Pandher. The others named in the petition are Dinesh Yadav, Satish Chand Mishra, Ravi Mishra and the parents of other victims - Pappu Lal, Durga Prasad and Ram Kishan.
