Malkangiri (Orissa): A landmine expert of the CPI(Maoist), Sawabaman Dulla today surrendered before the police at Malkangiri district.

Dulla (25), a tribal youth belonging to primitive Koya tribe, surrendered before the Malkangiri Superintendent of Police S K Gajbhye along with naxal uniform and a pistol in presence of media persons.
 
Dulla s surrender came four days after a woman maoist cadre surrendered before the Sambalpur Superintendent of Police in western Orissa, official sources said.
After his surrender, Dulla said he was cheated by his leadership and he wanted to be back in the mainstream.
+I was neither given salary as promised by the leaders. I was also facing problems in getting food regularly+, a sick Dulla told reporters.

Malkangiri SP Gajbhye said Dulla would get all the benefits according to the rehabilitation package announced by the state government for the maoists who surrender with fire arms. +He will be immediately given Rs 20,000 and four decimal of homestead land as per the provision+, the sp said.

A landmine expert, Dulla worked in Orissa and Chhatishgarh and he was also working as an informer for the maoist group, he said. Dulla had joined the CPI(Maoist) a year ago after being lured with salary and other benefits which were later denied. He is married with two children, police said.
