Radio Mango goes on air

Kozhikode: Leading Malayalam daily `Malayala Manorama launched Kerala s first-ever private FM radio channel, `Radio Mango , here today.

Launching the 24-hour channel, daily's Editor and Managing Director, Mammen Mathew said the channel will be run in a professional manner.

The channel will be broadcast on 91.9 FM frequency, enabling people to listen to it upto a range of 40 to 100 kms. It will be available in other parts of the state soon.

Radio Mango's proceedings began with a message from Manorama's Chief Editor K M Mathew, who said that the channel would enthrall people belonging to all age groups.

Besides music, it will offer a variety of entertainment programmes like humour, city updates, sports, celebrity interviews, finance snippets and fashion overviews.

The programmes will be totally dedicated to the listener and take into consideration their likes and dislikes from time to time, programme Director, Ravi Nair said.

Those present on the occasion included Manorama s Managing Editor, Philip Mathew, Director, George Jacob and Resident Editor, Amith Mathew.
Malayala Manorama already has its own TV channel `Manorama News .
