Thursday, November 29, 2007 23:48 [IST]

Mumbai: A session court today convicted stamp paper scam mastermind Abdul Karim Telgi and four others in connection with the death of his employee Christopher Bhatti in 2001.

Additional Sessions Judge U D Salvi convicted Telgi and others on charges of culpable homicide - not amounting to murder and for destruction of evidence.

Two accused in the case, however, have been acquitted- one of them being Telgi's relative Tabrez Ahmed. The sentence will be delivered tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the judge has ordered that Telgi be brought here from Pune's Yerwada jail.
