BJS to contest Gujarat polls sans Uma support
Sunday, December 02, 2007 01:27 [IST]

Ahmedabad: Bharatiya Jan Shakti leaders today claimed that they will go ahead and fight the elections in Gujarat with or without its President Uma Bharti.
"We are going to fight elections in Gujarat. Our 54 candidates are in fray and they will fight on BJS symbol," party vice-president Sanghpriya Gautam said here today.

He said the party state unit will request Bharti to come to campaign in Gujarat.

Uma Bharti had written a letter to BJS state unit president Chaitanaya Shambhu Maharaj telling him to withdraw all the candidates. However, the candidates have decided to fight elections inspite of her instructions.
