Punjab Govt lifts ban on Aaja Nachle
Sunday, December 02, 2007 11:13 [IST]

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has decided to lift the ban on Bollywood movie 'Aaja Nachle' starring Madhuri Dixit, who is on a comeback trail after 5 years.

"The decision in this regard was taken by the state government late last night. A notification in this regard was also issued today". Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister D S Guru said here today.

The state government had last night asked the district magistrates to decide on whether to screen the movie after its objectionable content in the movie's title song had been removed.

The Badal government had yesterday banned the movie in order to maintain law and order in the state, a day after it was pulled off from theatres in Uttar Pradesh.

The UP government had yesterday asked the district magistrates of the state to allow the screening of the amended versions of the film.
