Security beefed up in Ayodhya ahead of Dec 6

Ayodhya: Security has been beefed up with deployment of Rapid Action Force (RAF) and paramilitary forces in this temple town ahead the 14th anniversary of the demolition of Babri mosque on December 6.

Extensive checking has been initiated on highways and temples and team of bomb disposal and anti-sabotage squad have been deployed at key places, official source said. RAF, PAC and paramilitary force personnel have been deployed to keep an eye on the activities of people visiting the temple town, they said.

DIG, Faizabad Range, Abhay Kumar Prasad yesterday visited the disputed site and discussed about security arrangements with the officials. While VHP is going to organise Hindu Sankalp Conference on the day, Muslim organisations would shut down their business. The mosque was demolished on December 6,1993.
