Islamabad: Unidentified attackers fired rockets at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base in the northwestern city of Peshawar, injuring at least one person and causing minor damage to the facility, police said today.

Three rockets, fired at midnight last night, landed within the airbase located near Peshawar international airport.

Police said the first rocket hit the domestic camp of the airbase, the second hit a canteen and the third exploded in an open space. The rocket that hit the canteen injured a man while another caused minor damage to a wall.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Rockets have been fired at the airbase and at Peshawar city in the past.
