Gurgaon: Things are not well placed for Mahajan family it seems. In a much anticipated move, Shweta Mahajan, wife of Rahul Mahajan, has filed a divorce application before a Gurgaon court. Rahul Mahajan is the son of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

Shweta, earlier, had complained of physical abuse against Rahul. The duo got married on August 29, 2006. They got engaged after 13 long years of friendship.

Earlier, reports were there that Shweta is looking her way out. In November 2006, Shweta alleged that Rahul left her with a cut lip, bruised arm and a sore back.

The tussle began to take place between them in the early stages of marriage only. It's been believed that Shweta had been trying to convince Rahul for peaceful separation, but Rahul was not willing to take up the idea.
