Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian police have detained five ethnic Indians under internal security laws. All of them belong to Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf). This arrest could trigger a new tussle between government and ethnic groups in Malaysia.
Earlier, in November Hindraf had organised a mass rally protesting the racism by the government. More than 250 arrests were made at that time by the Malaysian police.
More than 10,000 protesters were gathered in the capital for anti-government protest. They also subjected to the economical negligence on the part of Malaysian government.
Several Indians had voiced their concern over government policies and it represents a political challenge for the government as it heads toward possible early elections in the next few months.
The government bodies had earlier warn people not to take part in such rallies. The Indians are frustrated and have no job opportunities in the government or the private sector.
