Monday, December 17, 2007 13:28 [IST]

Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court today directed the CBI to submit on January eight its probe report into the mysterious death of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rehman who was married to the daughter of a city- based industrialist.

While accepting the plea of CBI counsel Ranjan Roy, Justice Soumitra Pal granted the agency time till January eight to submit its report. The court had on October 16 directed the CBI to complete the probe in two months and submit its report today, but it could not be done as some formalities were yet to be completed by the central investigating agency.

Rizwanur had married Priyanka Todi, daughter of Ashok Todi, under the Special Marriage Act on August 18. The couple was living at Rizwanur's residence here since August 21.

The graphic designer's body was found on the railway tracks on September 21.
