Genes that triple bowel cancer risk found

London: Finally, the two genes that could triple the chance of developing bowel cancer have been found -- a clinical breakthrough which will lead to new new ways of preventing and treating the disease.

British scientists have carried out a research and traced the two stretches of flawed DNA which when carried with another bowel cancer gene, identified earlier this year, could double or even treble the risk of bowel cancer, the Daily Mail reported here today. According to lead researcher Professor Richard Houlston of the Institute of Cancer Research at the University of London,
