Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh assembly today unanimously adopted a resolution to hand over to CBI the probe into allegation of MLAs receiving threatening calls and SMSes even as Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu accused Congress leader Fegong Apang of encouraging these callers to topple his government.
Khandu, who revolted against Apang and dislodged him from power in April last, said that in the last few days at least ten MLAS and his principal advisor Tsering Gyurmey had received such calls and SMSes in the name of terrorists directing them to shift their loyalties from Khandu to Apang. When Apang, who had ruled the state for 23 years, denied his involvement and demanded an inquiry by an independent authority like CBI, Khandu readily agreed and the House unanimously adopted a resolution to this effect.
Earlier, Khandu shouted at Apang and asked "did you not visit houses of ruling party MLAS and sought their support? We have all the numbers from which the SMS and telephones calls were made. Do they take your name without any reason?"
