'NDA failed in opposition role'
Friday, December 21, 2007 12:54 [IST]

Ranchi: The CPI (ML-Liberation) on Friday criticised the BJP for bringing in the no-confidence motion against the UPA government, leaving it "off the hook" in the face of the Congress setting a January 15 deadline for the Koda regime.

''The BJP-led NDA failed to play as a responsible opposition by bringing in the no-confidence motion which gave the UPA government a fresh lease of life after being on the mat both inside and outside the assembly,'' the party's lone MLA Vinod Kumar Singh said here.

Knowing that the no-confidence motion would be lost, the BJP spoiled the opposition effort since the last monsoon session that put pressure on the Koda government and 'exposedits non-performance'.
