Bangalore: Former Karnataka Minister and dissident JD-S leader P G R Sindhya will formally join BSP in the presence of party surpemo Mayawati here on December 23.
"I will formally join BSP on December 23. I have decided to sever links with Janata Dal (Secular) with pain in my heart as I was associated with Janata Parivar since 35 years", Sindhya told a press conference here. Mayawati is addressing a rally of BSP workers on Sunday.
Sindhya, who distanced himself from the JDS about two years ago protesting the party aligning with BJP to form a coalition government in 2006, has been participating in BSP activities in Karnataka in the last six months. BSP National General Secretary Veer Singh ruled out his party forging poll pact with any political party in the state during the coming assembly elections. "We will contest on our own", he declared.
