Mumbai: The funeral of Amitabh Bachchan’s mother Teji Bachan will take place here today.

A host of Bollywood personalities, political leaders and dignitaries are expected to attened the funeral early morning today at the Juhu-Vile Parle crematorium near Godrej House.

Pandits from Benaras have been called in to paerform the last rites.

The buzz among Congress circles in Delhi is that Rahul Gandhi, AICC general secretary, will in all probability represent the family at the funeral.

Teji passed away in Lilavati Hospital on Friday after a prolonged illness.

Rahul had represented the family at the funeral of Amitabh’s father Harivanshrai, too, a few years ago.
