Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government today said that there is no shortage of essential commodities in the state and has decided to take action against black marketers.

"There are 6000 outlets in the state providing essential commodities to people in a smooth and transparent manner.

"The department has launched several drives to book those involved in black marketing by creating an artificial scarcity of these items," Minister of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Taj Mohi-ud-din said.

There is no shortage of essential commodities in any part of the state, he said, adding that rations have already been sent in advance to the places which remain cut off during the winter season.

He appealed to the people to register complaints in consumer courts so that black marketing and adulteration could be checked.
