Militant arrested in Karhmir

Srinagar: A militant was today arrested in Pulwama district. The militant, Bashir Ahmad Laway, was apprehended during routine checking at Kadlabal-Nambal near Awantipora.

A Chinese pistol and five rounds of ammunition were recovered from his possession, a police spokesman said adding a case has been registered against the militant. Meanwhile, police assisted by troops of 44 Rashtriya Rifles launched a cordon and search operation at Drubgam village.

The search operation was launched following information about presence of militants in the village.
