Saturday, December 29, 2007 22:54 [IST]

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Government will do justice to all regions of the state, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said today.

Azad, who said he did not believe in differentiating between people on the basis of political leanings, region or religion, today distribute ownership rights on government land among farmers under the Roshni Act at Banihal and Chenani areas of Jammu division.

Referring to the Roshni Act under which about 21 lakh kanals of state land is being transferred to people free of cost, the chief minister described it as a revolutionary step and said it would benefit farmers in a big way.

At today's function, the chief minister handed over ownership rights of land to about two dozen farmers of Banihal and Chenani tehsils.
