Monday, December 31, 2007 12:08 [IST]

Islamabad: Amid all speculations and turbulence, Pak EC will meet on Tuesday to finalise the poll schedule in the country. It's been believed that during a violent protest of Benazir's death has largely affected the poll process in the country.

Many political analysts believe that the EC could postpone the January 8 general elections in wake of current situation in the country.

Meanwhile, President Musharraf has showed his readiness to meet all political leaders to have a consent solution on it. After naming Bilawal Bhutto as Benazir's successor, PPP has urged PML-N to not to boycott elections. The PPP itself is contesting general elections.

Reacting positively to the call of PPP, the Nawaz Sharif has decided to participate in general elections.
