'PML-Q ready for Jan 8 polls'
Monday, December 31, 2007 14:41 [IST]

Islamabad: President of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain today said the PML-Q is ready for January 8 polls after the decision of PPP.

The government is committed to hold free and fair elections in the country, he added. While talking to PTV, Mr Hussain said a strong Election Commissioner is here to organise things in this regard.

Mr Hussain took exception to Asif Ali Zardari’s remarks in which he had called the PML-Q as murderer (Qatil) league, The Associated Press of Pakistan reported today.

He said the PML always worked to promote peace, tolerance and unity in the country but Mr Zardari’s statement reflect that he has a secret agenda to be accomplished.
