Rs 400 cr sanctioned for Akola development

Akola: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has sanctioned a package of Rs four hundred crore for overall development of Akola city, the Mayor said.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the Chief Minsiter with Madan Bhargad, Mayor, Sudhakar Gangane, MLC, Laxmanroa Tayde, former Congress MLA, Sajidkhan Pathan, Chairman of City Development Committee, Daulat Khan Pathan, Municipal Commissioner and others in Mumbai yesterday.

Of the total amount, Rs 132 crores were sanctioned for road development and a 500-bed hospital. Rs 20 crores have been sanctioned for the development of AMC school building in the city.

Also, the Chief Minister said that the report of Soni Committee probing into the irregulurities of AMC would be declared in fortnight, Bhargad said.
