Ranchi: The US policy in Pakistan is a failure as the Islamic country has become far more unstable than earlier, former external affairs minister and BJP leader Yashwant Sinha today said.
"After eight years of (Pervez) Musharraf's rule, Pakistan is far more unstable than it has ever been. And unfortunately the US policy in Pakistan is a complete failure since it has put all its eggs in his basket," Sinha told PTI.
Expressing concern over post-Benazir Bhutto assassination situation in the sub-continent, he said the fatal attack on the former premier did not augur well for Pakistan's neighbours.
"The assassination of Bhutto has proved that the state apparatus in Pakistan is not up to the challenge posed by terrorism and the whole country is in the grip of jehadi elements. The writ of Pakistan government does not run in large parts of the country," he said.
"If you connect the rise of Taliban in Pakistan following its Afghan policy then Pakistan has once again emerged as a nerve-centre of terrorism," he said, adding it did not augur well for neither Afghanistan nor India.
