Delhiites get respite from cold conditions
Monday, January 07, 2008 11:58 [IST]

New Delhi: Delhiites got some respite from the cold conditions today with the minimum rising to 7.8 degree Celsius even as dense fog engulfed the city.
Mercury today showed a slight increase as compared to yesterday s temperature, recorded at 7.4 degree Celsius.

The rise in the temperature is attributed to the cloud cover engulfing the city making it a notch higher than what was last year, Met office said.
Flight operations were also disrupted due to the dense fog that enveloped the city this morning.

The maximum temperature in the last twenty four hour was recorded at 23.4 degree Celsius. The weatherman has predicted partly cloudy sky with minimum temperature to hover around 9 degree Celsius.

The New Year began on a cold note with mercury in the national capital plummeting to the season's lowest of 1.9 degree Celsius on January 2.
