Bhopal: Rehabilitation and Resettlement work of 37,143 Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP) affected families of 192 villages of Jhabua, Dhar, Barwani and Khargone districts of Madhya Pradesh is likely to be completed before onset of monsoon.
"The completion of remaining R R work would enable to raise dam height from present 121.92 m to full and final 138.6 m height", a top government official said here today.
The regional Director rehabilitation Ram Kinkar Gupta told PTI that R R work of 24,421 families pertaining to dam height of 121.92 m was already done and now rehabilitation of remaining families is in progress.
District wise list of villages going to be affected in the next monsoon has been published in state gazette and notices would be served to affected families by rehabilitation officers concerned in due course of time, he said.
Out of total 192 affected villages no village is under full and permanent submergence, he said adding, as much as 80 rehabilitation sites has been developed for resettlement and eight more rehabilitatiom sites would be developed.
Each affected family is entitled to get 90x60 feet residential plot free of cost. Families which refused the plot are entitled to get cash Rs 50,000 in lieu of residential plot.
The Vice Chairman Narmada Valley Development Authority Pradip Bhargav said field officers have been strictly directed to ensure all basic amenities at the rehabilitation sites and provide all benefits to outsees under the rehabilitation provisions.
