Mumbai: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) provides clean and safe fuel for cooking. However, if not handled with care, every gas cylinder can be a time-bomb and it is the duty of the company supplying the LPG cylinder to ensure that it is kept in a safe environment.
This principle was laid down by the MP State Consumer Dispute Commission in Indian Oil vs Smt Krishna Sharma and others.
The Sharmas, who had an Indian Oil LPG connection at her home, was supplied a fresh refill on November 10, 2004, which apparently had problems. A complaint regarding the same was also registered.
