Chennai: President of the Savera Group of Hotels here B V S Reddy was today arrested in connection with the collapse of a stage in his hotel during a New Year's eve party, which left a software engineer dead.

Reddy was later produced before a Magistrate Court which granted him bail. A make-shift stage constructed over a swimming pool in the hotel collapsed when over 250 revellers were dancing on it, killing 24 year-old Sumit Agnihotri from Uttar Pradesh.
