Aizawl: The Mizoram government has decided to set up South East Asian Open University, School Education Minister R Lalthangliana said here today.

"As per the provisions, students from SAARC countries would be able to enroll and pursue their studies upto the doctorate degree levels online," he told mediapersons here.

The state government has approached the UN and governments including China and UK for funding the proposed university and things would be finalised after passing the legislation of the University bill, the minister said.
