Washington: The Bush administration has refused to comment on Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf's remark that slain former premier Benazir Bhutto was to be blamed for her own death, saying investigations into who was responsible for the attack was still an ongoing process.
"President Musharraf gave his interview. I think that there's an ongoing investigation as to who is responsible for Benazir Bhutto's death. We all look forward to the results of that investigation and bringing to justice those responsible" US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.
Musharraf, while speaking on CBS news' Sixty Minutes show aired on Sunday said Bhutto did not heed security advice, took risks and perhaps was responsible for her own death.
"Only she... For standing up outside the car. I think it was she to blame alone. Nobody else. Responsibility is hers," Musharraf had said in the interview.
