Kenya opposition rejects government line-up
Tuesday, January 08, 2008 22:01 [IST]

Nairobi: Kenya's opposition today dismissed the announcement by President Mwai Kibaki of a partial cabinet line-up for the east African country, torn by politically motivated unrest since December 27 polls.

"The whole thing is a gimmick, the cabinet is a joke. We do not recognise the president and therefore we won't recognise his cabinet," secretary general Anyang Nyongo of Raila Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement told AFP.

Kibaki earlier announced a partial line-up which he described as "broad-based" and includes two members of the opposition Orange Democratic Movement-Kenya led-by presidential contender Kalonzo Musyoka.
