Beijing: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today held official talks with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao during which the two leaders are understood to have discussed a wide range of issues, including bilateral matters as well as international developments.

Dr Singh, who is on a three-day landmark visit to China, was earlier accorded a ceremonial welcome at the North Chamber of the Great Hall of the People.

Thereafter, the two Prime Ministers had a restricted meeting at the South Chamber. Later, they were joined by their respective delegations. The two countries are expected to sign about a dozen agreements for cooperation in different fields at the end of the talks.

Last night, the Chinese Premier had hosted a private dinner for the Indian leader, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation on the historic visit.
