Jalandhar: After winning in the Asia (regional) Space Settlement Decision Competition organized by NASA at Gurgaon recently, twelve-member team from Apeejay School, is all set to represent Asia team comprising of students of Lahore Grammer School for Girls and Spring Dales School of Amritsar, in the International Space Settlement Competition to be held at NASA's on July 25th and 28th at Johnson space centre, in United States of America (USA).
Various other teams from across the continent including those from Lahore (Pakistan) participated in the competition. Of the twelve different teams from various countries, each of them was combined with two other to form a company, Mohit Thukral, President of the Rochdonnel company of all the three winning Schools, said.
The team from Apeejay School included students from class IX to class XII, namely, Mohit Thukral, Karan Jain, Abhisaar Sharma, Bhavya Gupta, Rishi Dev Arora, Prabal Pratap Singh, Shreyak Sharma, Samarth Batra, Khushboo Sewak, Venika Aggarwal, Karan Sumra and Sawant Khanna along with trainer Emmanuel Ratnaraj. The project assigned to the company during the competition was to build a virtual settlement to catch an asteroid and bring it to earth.
With a time limit of 21 hours to complete the project and then give a 35 minute long formal presentation, it was an educative, collaborative and an altogether learning experience for the little champions.
