Pakistan missile test not unique, says US
Saturday, January 26, 2008 10:48 [IST]

Washington: The Bush Administration said Pakistan's latest missile test is something that is not unique and has, in fact, happened before.

"This I understand is a system that has been tested previously," State Department Deputy Spokesman Tom Casey said when asked to comment on the test firing of Shaheen-1 (Haft IV) missile during military exercise yesterday from an undisclosed location.

Casey, however, said, we want all countries to comply with their international obligations and would not want to see anything done that would destabilise the region.

According to media reports, Pakistan army chief General Ashfaq Kiyani, who witnessed the test, congratulated the officers involved and scientists on achieving high standards of training and excellent results.
