Lucknow: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will lay the foundation stone of a girls inter-college at Daulatpur village tomorrow in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district, less than two months after getting reprieve from the Allahabad High Court in a controversial farmland purchase there.
The entire Bachchan family will descend on the village for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Aishwarya Bachchan Girls Inter-College , which will also be attended by Third Front political bigwigs, including former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. TDP leader and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, INLD leader and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah would also attend the ceremony.
Senior SP leader and close friend of the Bachchans, Amar Singh, whose birthday falls tomorrow, would be celebrating the day at Daulatpur by distributing sweets and cutting a cake on the occasion, Samajwadi Party sources said here.
The High Court had about a month-and-half ago cleared Amitabh of all charges in the land deal in Daulatpur village in the neighbouring district and also ordered that no criminal or civil prosecution could be launched against him. The court also accepted Amitabh s plea of giving up his claim on the gram sabha land.
