Tiruchirapalli: Union Minister of Shipping, Road and Transport T R Baalu said the Centre was committed to complete the ongoing Sethusamudram Canal Project (SSCP), despite opposition to it.
Unveiling the portrait of Dhanapakkiam, mother of DMK Rajya Sabha member Tiruchi N Siva, here last night, Mr Baalu said some communal forces were attempting to stall the prestigious project, but the people should defeat their nefarious designs and ensure the completion of SSCP.
