New Delhi: India plans to electrify one village in each of the other seven SAARC countries through supply, installation and commissioning of solar home systems and solar street lighting systems.
These include about 2100 solar home lighting systems and 350 solar street lighting systems, officials said here. The SAARC Division of the External Affairs Ministry will initially conduct a survey and identify up to three villages in each member country.
