Haryana transfers sub stations to power companies

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today decided has decided to transfer all 66 KV Sub Stations of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) to the two power distribution companies.

The companies, namely Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), will ensure efficient power supply to the consumers and effective implementation of power regulatory measures for equal distribution of power.

Giving this information here today, Haryana Power Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala said that staff posted at these stations would also be transferred to these companies.

He said that the state Government had taken a number of steps to improve the availability of the power and a unmber of projects were in the pipeline which would generate additional 5000 MW of power in the State by 2010.
