No sample for Avian flu from West Bengal

Bhopal: Not a single sample for Avian Influenza infection from West Bengal tested positive after January 26,a report issued by High Security Animal Disease Laboratory (HSADL) said here.

The HSADL, joint director S C Dubey, said, "Besides, West Bengal, we received samples from other states but not a single sample have been found positive for the Avian Influenza on rapid test basis," it said, adding even not a single sample from West Bengal tested positive after January 26.

The Director General of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) Dr Mangla Rai during a visit to the HSADL discussed various possibilities of epidemiological inferences of bird flu outbreak along with scientist and research staff, it said.
