Gill appointed as NHRC's investigation head

 New Delhi: Rajasthan DGP A S Gill has been appointed as Director General (Investigation) of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

"Gill, a 1972 batch IPS officer will join us soon as the Centre has issued orders for his relieving from his post in Rajasthan," NHRC chairperson Rajendra Babu told PTI.

Gill succeeds IPS Damodar Sarangi who retired from NHRC as DG (Investigation) on 31 January this year. He had joined the Commission in September 2006.
