Hisar: Haryana Governor, Dr A R Kidwai today called upon the scientists toprepare manpower of skilled agriculture graduates for development of agriculture besides promoting agriculture technology in the country.

The Governor was speaking as Chief Guest at a three-day National Workshop and Training Conference organised at CCS Haryana Agricultural university here on the subject of DNA Fingerprint Facility and Agriculture Technical Licensing.

He said that there was no scarcity of natural resources in the country, if these natural resources along with bio-diversity were exploited properly our country could become a leading nation of the world in the field of agricultural produces.

The Governor said that there was no doubt, the country made a phenomenal progress in the field of agriculture during the last three decades.

We would get adequate funds from patenting the agricultural techniques and agricutural products as well as getting licenses and these funds could be spent on resarch works which would enable the Agriculture Universities and Research Institutions to complete their research work in time, he added.

Dr Kidwai said that on implementation of Globalization and World Trade Treaty, new opportunities had arrived in the field of agriculture and now it had become a trade. In this situation, only that country would be able to stand in the market whose agricultural produce would be of better quality.
