Police arrest eight criminals of a notorious gang

Balasore: The police busted a gang of notorious criminals with the arrest of eight miscreants when they were preparing to commit a docoity at a petrol pump on Highway No.5 near here. The police seized two country made pistols, live cartridges, three daggers, eight mobile hands sets and other lethal weapons, besides, a car from their possession yesterday.

The gang had committed a dacoity few days back in a highway fuel outlet of BPCL near Haldipada. The criminals were involved in several robberies, dacoities, extortions including drug peddling, Balasore Superintendent of Police Yaswant Jethua said.

He said preliminary investigation revealed that the gang was associated with the drug mafia Azad Parvez. All the arrested criminals were produced before a court which later sent them to jail custody.
