Cold wave continues in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: Kashmir Valley continued to be in the grip of cold wave today with minimum temperature touching minus 10.4 degrees Celsius.

Qazigund in Anantnag district was the coldest place in the valley with the minimum temperature dipping to minus 10.4 degrees Celsius, a spokesman of the MET office said.

The hill resort of Pahalgam, which witnessed the coldest day yesterday with minimum temperature dipping to minus 16.2,recorded a low of minus 9.2 degrees Celsius today.

Kokernag in South Kashmir witnessed a low of minus 7.8 degrees while Kupwara in North Kashmir recorded a low of minus 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.7 degrees.

Banihal, Bhaderwah and Batote in Jammu region recorded a low of minus 3.6, minus 3.1 and minus 0.2 degrees Celsius respectively while there was an improvement in the night temperatures in Jammu and Katra which recorded 5.4 and 6.3 degrees Celsius respectively this morning, the spokesman said.
