Saturday, February 23, 2008 01:08 [IST]

Mumbai: Acclaimed director Ashutosh Gowarikar, whose recently released movie Jodhaa-Akbar is facing stiff opposition in some parts of the country, today said he regretted that film could not be screened in Rajasthan, from where Jodhabai "hailed".

"I feel very sad that in Rajasthan, the land of her birth, film can t be screened ... I wish those opposing it had first watched the film," Gowarikar told reporters on the sidelines of a press conference to announce the schedule of 10th international film festival Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI) to be held next month.
