HSC exam of Maha Board to begin from Feb 28
Saturday, February 23, 2008 16:17 [IST]

Yavatmal: The Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC) of Maharashtra State Examination Board will commence from February 28 next for both the old and the new courses and it will conclude on March 28.

Divisional Secretary of Amravati Divisional Board D.G. Jagtap guided the teachers with the Boards new rules and appealed them to co-operate with the Board to conduct the exam peacefully and malpractice free.

According to the Boards new rules, 30 percent of the invigilators should be appointed from among the women teachers of each centre and no male teachers should indulge in frisking of girl candidates. This can be done with the help of the women invigilators only.

Regarding the seating arrangements, he made a slight relaxation to the centres where the number of candidates is more than the available accommodation. In such cases, the conductor is permitted to allow two candidates to sit on the same bench.

Though the remuneration of the conductors, Deputy conductors, invigilators and other staff has reportedly been revised, the booklet issued by the Board to the conductors does not speak about it and it shows the old rates, one of the teachers opined.

The Divisional Secretary has assured that necessary precaution would be made to release the excess payments and remunerations immediately after the completion of the exam.
