5 injured in blast in northwest Pakistan

Islamabad: Five persons were seriously injured when the car they were travelling in was targeted with a roadside bomb in northwest Pakistan today.

The persons, all members of a political party, were on their way to a celebration rally when their vehicle was hit by the blast near Shinkiari in Mansehra district of North West Frontier Province, police said. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where the condition of three of them was stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, three persons were killed when the car they were travelling in went off a mountain road in Kohistan district. Police and rescue workers have recovered the bodies, officials said.
